Om 🙏. Lempuyang Temple ( Pura Lempuyang ) located at Tista village, Abang Sub-district, Karangasem Regency, Bali. Lempuyang temple is a temple complex consisting of several temple as supporter of the main temple Lempuyang Luhur. Lempuyang Luhur Temple are on the highest peak of Mount Lempuyang is generally achieved by climbing the stairs starting from Telaga Mas Temple. Lempuyang Luhur Temple roughly at an altitude of 1,100 m above sea level. Early ascent begins from Telaga Mas Temple, the trip will up and down a few hills, especially when we are passing lane Lempuyang Madia Temple to Lempuyang Luhur Temple who have to go through a dirt road which is quite steep and very hard, especially in the rainy season.

One of the unique in Lempuyang Luhur Temple is the existence of a group of bamboos on the main page of this temple. This bamboo flourishes and stems contain water that is used for means of holy water in this temple. To preserve the bamboo grove is the harvesting of bamboo is very limited, only time-a spesific time when this bamboo grove very much, some of the stems is cut down and water in bamboo rod is accommodated in a large skillet contained in a specifically temple known as " Pelinggih Tirta pingit ". 

Meaning of Lempuyang probably derived from the word " Lampu " or light in English and the word " Hyang " or God in English so interpreted as God Rays. Perhaps also because in this region are found the plant Zingiber ( called Lempuyang ) which is kinds of tuber crops used for herbs.

Lempuyang mountain area has a tropical forest vegetation is quite dense and beautiful. Some types of vegetation of the mountains that dominate the giant ferns and pandanus mountain besides several species of hardwood trees typical of the highlands.While the types of animals that we encounter here is the kind of grey long tail macaques.
