Tulamben located at Tulamben Village, Kubu Sub-district, Karangasem Regency, Bali. This village is one of the very famous dive sites in Bali, especially around the main location of the USAT Liberty shipwreck ( a cargo ship belonging to the army of the United States who drowned after torpedoed by a Japanese Submarine in the Second World War ).
This dive site is one of the easiest dives site to enjoy the natural scenery under the sea all around the shipwreck. Divers from all skill levels can do the dives here. The location can be reached directly from the beach and is located approximately 25 meters from the coast, with a depth about of 5 meters until 30 meters below sea surface. At the beginning of the wreck is only few meters from the beach, the eruption of Mount Agung encourage shipwreck is deeper than the surface of the water. Liberty shipwreck is estimated to have a length of about 120 meters, and diving spot where the Liberty ship sank is suitable for beginners to professional divers. Divers can see a variety of facilities remaining on this ship such as a weapon, a toilet, a ship's anchor chain, etc. When the holiday season ( in August, Christmas, and New Year ), there are more than 100 divers come to dive around the wreck everyday.
Around this shipwreck with diverse marine biota due to rich of plankton life around it. Plankton is brought of the famous ocean currents that is the Indian Ocean and the Pasific Ocean. If you are lucky, the divers can find Whale Shark or Manta Ray. With walls of coral reefs provide an opportunity for small fish living in it. If you want a vacation and are keen to try diving, came in July to Oktober because the weather is nicer for that month in order to get a more optimal experience.
