Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple ( Pura Mandara Giri Semeru Agung ) located at Senduro Village, Senduro Sub-district, Lumajang Regency, East Java. Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple is one of " Kahyangan Jagat " Temple in the Java Island. Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple has a very wide area, the architectural style follow the architectural style of temples in Bali. The temple building was originally constructed is simple, now, has developed magnificently. Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple was built in 1991 at the foot of Mount Semeru that has cool air. When we headed to middle area of the temple or " Madya Mandala " we ascend some stairs and through a " Candi Bentar " that is magnificent, the architecture of " Candi Bentar " resemble the temple of The Majapahit Kingdom era and made from red bricks were neatly arranged. In the area of " Madya Mandala " there are many buildings that has function to support the ceremony process and praying at this temple, such as: " Bale Pasak " a resting place for people who is coming to pray, " Bale Gong ", " Bale Kulkul ", pavilion, " Bale Petandingan ", and " Wantilan " is also very broad. The behind of " Wantilan " there are plenty of bathrooms for people who would shower and change clothes.
When we headed to main area of the temple or " Utama Mandala " by passing a " Gelung Kori " or " Candi Kurung " with carvings very unique and interesting. In the " Utama Mandala " there are major shrines such as Padma. Beside the Padma, in the " Utama Mandala " there is also " Bale Tajuk ", Anglurah, Bale Peselang and others. As in other temple, here the payers also is led by local priest who everyday is always ready to lead prayers of Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple.
Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple as the religious tourism object with the typical architecture of Hindu were very strong, featuring majesty which adds to the uniqueness of Lumajang Regency, so deserves to be visited. The presence of the temple here also as an example to demonstrate religious harmony, that the Hindu community can be received well in East Java that has known as an area with fairly strong Moslems community in Java.
With the majesty of Mandara Giri Semeru Agung Temple become a bucket list for people who do Tirtayatra.
